Hi! It has been a long time since I've sent one of these update emails. I
hope it finds you doing well. My goal is to update more often, but no
worries, it won't overrun your inbox or become spam. For more frequent
updates you can check my website news page, like my Facebook page, or follow

A WORD ABOUT XP END OF SUPPORT

On April 8, 2014 Microsoft is discontinuing support for Windows XP and
Office 2003. The only difference for most people is that Microsoft will stop
sending updates for them. It does NOT mean you have to stop using them or
that they will stop working. It DOES mean that new security vulnerabilities
discovered or exploited will not be fixed.

Eventually (not yet) new software and hardware will stop supporting XP,
including some anti-virus programs and Internet browsers. Sometime in the
future you will need to upgrade or replace your computer. Replacing it is
usually a better option because it's a simpler process, the old computer may
not support Windows 8.1, and a new computer will offer better features and
performance.

Labor cost for help with either option is similar in most cases. Both
involve backing up your files, installing your additional software and
devices, and restoring your files to the new installation. Depending on how
much data and configuration there is to do, my estimate will usually be 2 to
4 hours. Some situations or issues may require more time.

I hope this helps answer some of your questions. Please call or email if you
have more questions or for help upgrading or replacing your computer.

Please feel free to contact me for any other computer questions or issues as
well.

Thank you!
Ron
